Benton Hall are the Bronze Shield Winners!

After the threat of some early rain, the sun shone brightly on our Bronze Shield finalists, Benton Hall and Warley Park.  It had been a few years since either team had won the competition so both teams were excited and ready to take on the challenge.  All five matches were very close at the turn with matches two and four being edged by Benton Hall and the other three favouring Warley Park.  However Pru Carter managed to turn around match one in the last couple of holes, winning 1 up and Jenny Cooper and Val Cook extended their leads in matches two and four, both winning 4 & 2.  The final two matches were then called in but both were still incredibly close.  All the matches were played in a great spirit and everyone enjoyed the day.

Many thanks go to Chris Hanks and his team at Langdon Hills for being great hosts and to Jill McGrath, Lady Captain, Gill Ashley, Bronze Captain and all the ladies at Langdon Hills for providing such a wonderful halfway House.  Thanks also go to Len Goff and his team of referees and our County President, Nicola and County Captain, Sharon, for giving up their time to be there.
