ELCGA Seniors Team Inaugural East Regions League match vs Herts at Welwyn Garden City GC 25th April 2022
The seniors team faced Herts at the tricky Welwyn Garden City Course, home of Sir Nick Faldo, for the inaugural Senior Women's East Regions League match. Both Captains and the players were extremely proud to be a part of this new league and everyone played hard to win. The day ended up with 3 of the 6 scratch matchplay matches to each county giving half a league point of a possible 3 over the season. An exciting and auspicious start for a welcome addition to the senior women's game at county level.
We wish all the competing counties luck in their matches and look forward to seeing who will be triumphant at the end of the season, lifting the league trophy.
Essex was represented by Gill Haysham (Chelmsford), Jo Rumsey (Rochford Hundred), Tiff wade (Chelmsford), Amanda Colgate-Herbert (Rochford Hundred), Sue Ballard (The Essex) and Sophie Walters - Seniors Captain (Wanstead).
Huge thanks to all my players for such a good showing, here's to the next which is our first South League vs MDDX 6th May.
