Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex, Oxfordshire, Sussex and Surrey each fielded a team of 4 players. After an individual 18 holes of scratch stroke play the best 3 of the 4 scores were to count with the 4th score used to decide in the event of a tie. Surrey pipped Sussex by 4 shots on their 4th scores to win the championship this year. Essex tied the 4th gross score finishing in the middle of the field.
Essex was represented by Jo Rumsey (Rochford Hundred GC), Amanda Colgate-Herbert (Rochford Hundred GC), Julie Finegan (Hainault Forest GC) and Sophie Walters (Wanstead GC). Thanks to Mandy Rix (Colchester GC) for organising this day with Jo Rumsey and Janice Hazeldine (County President), Karen Charles (County Captain), the greens staff, referees and all those at Rochford Hundred GC who made it a super day.
Looking forward to the Championship next year that will be in Henley!
