A UNIFIED FUTURE - ESSEX COUNTY GOLF
Many counties affiliated to England Golf have successfully unified in recent years and several are now in negotiations. England Golf are actively encouraging counties to unifiy and provide advice and funding to aid counties in the process. Because of this EGU and ELCGA felt that it was time to enter into discussions with a view to unification.
In June 2021 elected officers from the EGU and the ELCGA formed a working party known as the Essex Unification Committee (EUC) to enter into discussions. The current working party is made up of
Nick McEvoy | President EGU |
Nicola Thomas | President ELCGA |
Lawrence Kingsnorth | Chairman Junior Golf & Community Tour Committee |
Sharon Glover |
Immediate past County Captain & Treasurer ELCGA |
Steve Clark | President Elect EGU |
Elaine Davidson | Captain ELCGA |
Ian Seymour | Assistant County Secretary EGU |
Joyce McFarlane | Welfare Officer ELCGA and EGU |
EUC have produced a UNIFICATION PROPOSAL together with a NEW BUSINESS STRUCTURE which will be put to the affiliated members for approval.
Presentions have been held around the county with affliiated clubs to discuss the proposal, deal with any concerns, explain the advantages of the unification and set out the way forward. Click here for a copy A U NIFIED FUTURE
