MUNRO FOURSOMES FINAL - SUNDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER

Congratulations to Wanstead who won the Munro Foursomes Trophy at Thorpe Hall after a very exciting match against Orsett. The match got off to a nervy start with both teams finding themselves in the green side bunkers on the first hole. Play ebbed and flowed until after 18 holes Wanstead were just 1up. After lunch Wanstead went on the attack and were 4up after twenty six holes. Not to be outdone Orsett fought back till they were 1up with two to play. Wanstead won the next hole, so it was all square going down the 36th hole. Two good drives and things were still pretty equal until Wanstead played a shot to the green which finished pin high and fairly close. This was enough to clinch the match.

A thoroughly exciting match for all the spectators who came to support. Well played both teams.
