SENIORS HANDICAP MEETING @COLNE VALLEY - 18TH SEPTEMBER

The Seniors Handicap Meeting was held at Colne Valley Golf Club on 18th September with 33 ladies from 14 clubs around the County.

Ina Cameron from Thorpe Hall donated the trophy for the ELCGA Seniors Meeting and it was first played for in 1993;  this being the 30th year of the competition. Ina Cameron was a regular Silver Team player and sadly passed at the age of 81.

Luckily the weather on the day stayed reasonably favourable and the course played well with some great scores.

The overall Winner of the Ina Cameron Trophy was Theresa Leighton (Crondon Park GC) with 41 points and Overall Runner Up was Gillian Byford (Garon Park GC) with 35 points on count back.

The winners of the two divisions - 60+ (Spring Chickens) was Georgine Penketh (Crondon Park GC) with 34 points on count back from Carol Lewis (Five Lakes GC) and the winner of the 70+ (Golden Girls) was Kathy Mulligan (Theydon Bois GC) with 35 points.

Thanks go to Colne Valley for hosting the competition and their fantastic hospitality, the two Colne valley lady members who kindly gave their time as Starters. Not forgetting the Rules Officials Len and Sandra Goff and Nicola Thomas (President) for their help and support throughout the day and awarding the prizes.
