The Warren Win the 2025 Bronze Shield

A wonderful day was had by all today at Burnham on Crouch Golf Club when The Warren took on Potters Five Lakes in the 2025 Bronze Shield Final. The sun shone with the occasional light breeze and there was a good deal of bounce and run on summer fairways which made for challenging conditions!  Both teams were up to the challenge however and some excellent golf was played in very good spirit.  The Warren were leading in the first three matches as we completed the 16th. And the final 2 matches were called in. It was Potters Five Lakes first time in a final and they played well but The Warrens early advantage could not be overturned.

Thanks must go to Burnham on Crouch for their hospitality today with special thanks to Burnham on Crouch Ladies who provided an excellent halfway house.  Thank you also to Sandra, George, Len, Josie and Nigel our wonderful referees; their presence was invaluable in the conditions and added a sense of occasion to the day.  Final thanks must go to County President, Karen and County Vice-Captain, Kate for all their support and help in the smooth running of the day.
