Please note that in Junior Club Team Competitions the deadline to Rule 2e does not apply if the ‘home’ club on 1st February agrees to the transfer of ‘home’ Club nomination later that calendar year

NB: cards marked with a P in WHS are penalty scores and do not count towards competition eligibility.

3.         COMPETITION ENTRIES

Except for Inter-Club Competitions, entries must be made online via the EGL website and are subject to the C&C’s approval.

Entry fees and individual Handicap Index limits will be set by the C&C and may be revised from time to time. If entries exceed the maximum number allowed for a competition, players with higher Handicap Indexes will be eliminated, with final places decided by ballot if necessary.

If a match is abandoned with no result, the Individual Player or Team Captains must rearrange the match (see Rule 11). Any previous scores are discarded, and the match must be replayed in full. For Inter-Club matches and Munro Foursomes, it is not necessary to field the same players.

12.6    Abandonment – Result Achieved

If an Inter-Club match is abandoned but an overall result has been achieved (e.g. one team has already won three matches):

2.6.9   Determining League Winners and Additional Teams

  • The team with the greatest number of points will be the league winner.
  • In the event of a tie the team with the greatest number of games won will be the league winner.
  • If there is still a tie, an extra point will be awarded for each away team win.
  • If there is still a tie, the winner will be determined by the results between the teams in the league matches.
  • Silver Shield Only: if there is still a tie after the above, the league winner will be decided by the differential of holes won between the two tied teams.
  • Should additional teams be needed to make up quarter or semi-final places, after determining the winners as described above; the additional teams needed to make up the place/s will be decided as follows:
  • When there are the same number of teams in each League, the calculation will be based on the runners up with the greatest number of points.
  • If there is a tie in the number of points, it will be based on the team(s) with the greatest number of wins.
  • If there is still a tie in the number of wins, the number of individual games won will be the deciding factor.
  • If there is still a tie, an extra point will be awarded for each away team win.
  • If there is still a tie, the additional team(s) will be determined by a play-off on a neutral course.
  • If there are a different number of teams in each league, quarter finalists will be recalculated as an average as follows:
  • Matches won divided by matches played (not points won) (a match is deemed to be 5 games).

If teams are still tied, then the method described above will be applied to determine the additional teams(s)

When two matches are played at the same venue, the first match is the one listed higher on the draw sheet.
The honour on the first tee goes to the club listed at the top of the draw.

Semi-final and final dates and venues will be communicated once all earlier rounds have been completed.
A referee will oversee the final
