Chigwell Win the Bronze Shield for the First time in 13 Years!!

A wonderful day was had by all today at Three Rivers Golf Club when Chigwell took on Colne Valley in the 2024 Bronze Shield Final.  Thankfully today was cooler than of late but very windy and the wind together with a good deal of bounce and run on summer fairways made for challenging conditions!  Both teams were up to the challenge however and some excellent golf was played in very good spirit.  Chigwell led in all but the last match at the turn, but Colne Valley tenaciously hung on until well into the back 9.  Chigwell's early advantage however, could not be overturned and their having secured 3 wins the final 2 matches were called in.

Thanks must go to Three Rivers for their hospitality today with special thanks to Vice-Captain Kathy and the other Three Rivers Ladies who provided an excellent halfway house, ball-spotted and generally looked after us all day.  Thank you also to George, Len, Sandra, Debs and Jo, our wonderful referees; their presence was invaluable in the conditions and added a sense of occasion to the day.  Final thanks must go to County President, Nicola and County Captain, Elaine for all their support and help in the smooth running of the day.
