MORNING MATCHES

The morning matches had a delayed start of half an hour due to overnight rain, the removal of a large part of a tree on the right of 11th fairway and swishing the greens.  For the Championship one match went down the 19th, another was won 7 and 5, two at 5 and 4, the others being 3 and 2, 3 and 1, 4 and 3 and one 2 up.  Thankfully it did not rain whilst all the players were on the course and the quarter finalists in the Championship commenced their afternoon round.  All the players were enthusiastic with the condition of the Thorndon Park course and enjoyed their games and the weather for Friday did not stop their enthusiasm.
