Essex Ladies County Golf

JUNIOR GOLFER OF THE YEAR

Junior Golfer of the Year

Several girls were considered for this prestigious award.  Aspects that were looked at included player activity at Club, County, Regional and National levels; a commitment to player development, participation in both individual and team events, and evidence of achievement.

We would like to highly commend Ciara Rushmer (Boyce Hill) who has had a very successful year both for County and Club and has been selected once again for England training.  She has played in numerous tournaments throughout the U.K. and won the Essex Schools Championship for the second consecutive year.  Ciara also continues to play regularly in qualifying competitions at her home club and represents Essex in both the County Team and Junior County Team.  We congratulate her on her achievements this year.

Overall it is encouraging the level of commitment that is being shown by the girls and the time and effort given to participating in the game.   In the end it became clear that one stood out amongst all others – Amy Knotts (Chigwell).

Amy represented her home club in the winning team for the Silver Shield

Due to a foot injury Amy was unable to play in the County Team but recovered in time to represent Essex in both the County Second Team and Junior County Team.

Has been selected again for the England East Region U18 Training Squad

Amy also played in numerous events throughout the UK and won the East Region Girls Championship at Ely City with scores of 73 and 73.

She is the 2021 Essex Girls’ Champion

Winner of the English Girls’ County Champion of Champions Tournament at Woodhall Spa with Rounds of 71 & 71 leaving Amy 5 shots clear of the rest of the field.

Has reduced her handicap from 2.6 to +1.5
