There are now 35 counties and over 1300 Golf Clubs participating in the County Card scheme. 

Essex have 63 clubs affiliated to the ELCGA and the Essex Golf Union belonging to the County Card Scheme. The scheme offers affiliated club members discounts on green fees. Discounts vary from club to club but generally you will be charged the member's  guest green fee.  Unlike many 2 for 1 offers, a large number of participating club are private member clubs which do not normally allow green fees.  

From 2021 County Cards will be digital and you can download your County Card to your Smart Phone.   For full details of how to download your County Card see the menu on the left where you  will also find a list of participating clubs and other useful information.   Downloading your card is quick and easy. 

When you want use your County Card yo u must contact the club you wish to play at least 48 hours in advance to confirm a tee time and the green fee.  Some clubs only accept County Cards on certain days and at certain times.  Do not just arrive at a club expecting to play.  The club reserves the right to refuse visiting players and/or their guests.   Members visiting clubs with guests must be responsible for their guests and the guests shall pay the fee requested by the club.

You must produce your Card and identification at the club when paying your green fee.

The County Card is not transferable, and any member found abusing the scheme will be refused access to reciprocal clubs and be subject to the ELCGA disciplinary procedures.  Click here for County Card Rules

This scheme not only offers you great value golf, but assists your club promote golf in Essex.   Golfers can only obtain a card if they are  a member of an affiliated club.  This ensures all card holders are golf club members with a WHS handicap index and well aware of the rules and etiquette of the game.
