ESSEX LADIES' COUNTY
GOLF ASSOCIATION
1. THE DRAW Takes
places at the November County Delegates Meeting. Copies are
given to all entrants at the Annual General Meeting. There is
no seeding.
2. COURSES Matches are
played on neutral courses. Course availability is requested on the entry
form.
3. DATES Dates of
rounds are fixed before the draw is made. All matches must be played on
those dates. Weather difficulties leading the course closure should be
related to the Munro Foursomes Organiser immediately. Venue and date
changes will then need to be agreed.
4. BOOKING MATCHES BY HOST CLUB
As soon as the draw is received, the Lady Captain of
the host club should book any matches shown to be played on her course
with the Club. If this proves not possible, the Organiser must be
informed immediately. If your course is not being used for the first two
rounds, please book the dates of further rounds. If you have not been
contacted within a week after a round has been completed, it is safe to
assume that your course will not be required for the next round. Public
courses, and 9-hole courses, are not used for Munro matches.
5.TEE TIMES/DRESS RULES/LOCAL
RULES/TROLLEY BANS etc The Lady Captain of the
host club should contact the Lady Captains of the competing clubs, to
arrange the time of play. Some Clubs prefer teams to play at a time that
will allow working players to work for half a day. If this can be
accommodated, it is much appreciated. The Lady Captain should also
advise visiting teams of any temporary local rules, dress rules, trolley
bans etc.
6.ETIQUETTE – HOST CLUB
The Lady Captain of the host club should either be present
herself, or appoint a deputy, to welcome players and caddies, and have
made arrangements beforehand with the visiting teams regarding
coffee/sandwiches etc.
7. MATCHES Two
players, not necessarily the same in each round, represent each club.
Matches are 18 holes, played off scratch, with sudden death if the match
is all square at the 18th. When two matches are taking place
at a venue, the first match is that which is higher up the draw sheet.
The honour on the tee goes to the club at the top of the draw. If the
first match is playing slower than the one behind, they should offer to
call them through.
8. MATCH RESULT The
Lady Captain of the winning club telephones the result to the Organiser
on the evening of the day that it is played.
9.THIRD AND SUBSEQUENT ROUNDS
As soon as the results of the 2nd round are known,
the Organiser fixes courses for the third and subsequent rounds. Details
of the fixtures are sent to the Lady Captains of the clubs involved, and
posted on the County website. The same procedure is followed after each
round.
10. FINAL The final
is played over 36 holes, with sudden death if all square at the end of
36 holes.
11. REFEREES A
referee will oversee the final. As well as decisions on the Rules of
Golf and Local Rules, the referee will monitor the speed of play. The
Management Committee has applied a time regulation. This states ‘the
maximum time allowed from reaching the ball to playing the shot shall be
60 seconds’. A player taking more than this will be given two warnings,
and if continuing to take longer than the 60 seconds, will be penalised
by the loss of that hole, in accordance with Rule 6-7.
12. BUGGIES Buggies
are not permitted unless sanctioned by the County Association and the
host club (see Yearbook Rules).
