Clubs who qualify for Quarter or Semi Finals are expected to make their courses available for another match in that round or later rounds. Please book these dates provisionally in your club calendar. Any lack of availability must be notified to the Competition Organiser as soon as possible.
Guidelines to be read in conjunction with the Rules & Conditions of Play 2008
- Eligibility: Players must be a paid-up member of the club they are representing by 1st March 2008.
- Match Dates: Home Captains are responsible for arranging the match dates. Three dates must be offered and this may mean using your Ladies Day. To avoid problems at a later date it is suggested that the Home Captain confirms in writing to the Away Captains all her home matches.
- Courses to be Used: Clubs with more than 18 holes should make it clear which holes will be used.
- Catering Arrangements/Tee Times: Approximately one week before the match, the host Team Captain should contact the visiting Team Captain to confirm the number of people and requirements regarding refreshments, together with the tee times. Depending on the time of the matches and the distance to be travelled, some teams may prefer to have refreshments before the match rather than afterwards. It has always been a tradition that the visiting Captain and her team are guests of the host club but this is entirely a matter for individual clubs to decide.
- Dress Code & Local Rules: Any rules regarding dress code (e.g. shorts) must be notified at this stage. Local rules (e.g. ground under repair, use of trolleys, etc.) even if only temporary, must be made clear to the visiting team and if temporary greens or tees are in use, approximate yardages should be given for the holes affected.
- Caddies/Slow Play/Buggies: Please refer to separate entry
- Courtesy Rounds: May not be requested at any time
- Suspension of Play: Please refer to Rule 2 (l) in enclosed extract. The Team Captains must inform the Competition Organiser immediately in such cases. The Organiser’s decision will be final in exceptional circumstances.
- Uneven Leagues Draw Procedure: Please refer to Rule 2 (q) in enclosed extract. In addition, a sub-committee will be set up to identify and agree the runner(s)-up and oversee a draw for the Quarter/Semi-Final to ensure that the winner of a league does not play the runner-up from the same League. Any play-offs to be arranged by the Competition Organiser.
