THE GIRLS’ AUTUMN MEETING   


The girls had a very good day at Boyce Hill on 24th October although it was quite cold and windy.
 
The results were as follows:
 
Winner               Claudia Willmore (Thorpe Hall)              36 points
Scratch winner     Georgina Blackman (Chelmsford)          35 points
2nd Handicap       Rebecca Earl (Braintree)                       35 points
3rd Handicap       Paige Kemp (Boyce Hill)                        32 points
4th Handicap       Chelsea-Mae Laundon (Chelmsford)        32 points
5th Handicap       Danii Hunter (Braintree)                        30 points
 
Elizabeth Hatch from The Warren was presented with the Boyce Cup for the girl who had reduced her handicap the most over the past 12 months.  Elizabeth reduced from 29.5 to 17.1.
 
Some of our girls have had such a brilliant year that choosing our Player of the Year proved very difficult but, taking everything into account, we decided to award the Hitchcock Salver to Ashleigh Greenham  from West Essex.





THE HITCHCOCK TROPHY

 

Shannon Wood (Rochford Hundred) and Samantha Ellis (Thorpe Hall) played the final of the Hitchcock Trophy on 11th September at Chelmsford Golf Club.  The winner, after a very close match finishing on the 18th green, was Shannon Wood.

GIRLS’ SUMMER MEETING AT CLACTON-ON-SEA

 

Twenty-six girls played in our Summer Meeting at Clacton which was also a qualifying competition for the Abu Dhabi Junior Golf Championship

The results:

BEGINNERS’ SUMMER MEETING AT FRINTON-ON-SEA


Twenty beginners enjoyed a morning of coaching and fun golf games organised by Scott Rusbridge and Tom Hide.  This was followed by a 9-hole competition.  The girls were divided into 2 groups according to ability with the following results:

EAST REGION GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS

 

Sophie Madden (West Essex) only dropped 4 shots to par over 36 holes to win the Scratch Trophy with rounds of 72 and 76.  She also won the Under 15 Trophy.  Ashleigh Greenham (West Essex) was joint runner up in the Scratch Competition but lost on countback.

Paige Kemp (Boyce Hill) played 2 under par to win the best am prize with her record breaking round of 70.

Monika Solanki had a very good day and was in the mix for the 2nd handicap prize but lost on countback.
  


Chloe Rose

Chloe Rose (Clacton-on-Sea) played in the Essex Boys under 12 Championship/ Brian Fuller Trophy at Crowlands Heath Golf Club.  She equalled the best gross score of the day and was runner-up in the Brian Fuller Trophy.

She has also qualified for the finals of the South East Regional Skills Challenge to be held on 10th September at Woodhall Spa (Chesfields Downs Golf Club).
