ESSEX SENIORS MISS OUT ON COUNT BACK

Monday 26th September saw Essex senior ladies travel to Royal Mid Surrey to play in the Ten Counties tournament.

The format for this tournament being a team of 4 with best 3 scores counting playing off of scratch.

Essex fielded a strong team for this event as the competing Counties will all play very strong low handicap players. Essex was represented by Jo Rumsey, Amanda Colgate- Herbert, Trish Wilson and Sue Lines Poulton. All four ladies played extremely well and represented the County with pride and honour.

Amanda played exceptionally well entering a score of – 73 (CSS 74) this being the best score in the field of 40 ladies. Congratulations Amanda. Jo Rumsey 78, Trish Wilson 79 and Sue Lines-Poullton 84 all did their part to come in with a magnificent 230 leaving them in joint 1st place. With spirits high and awaiting for the rest of the scores it was soon to be announced that Essex had come 2nd on Count Back, this after the 4th team players score was taken into consideration, Kent the eventual winners by 1 shot.

This is the best performance by an Essex Senior team in this tournament, so again well done ladies, we are all very proud of you.
