The format of each match is three foursomes in the morning and six singles in the afternoon all played off scratch.

If Essex win the East Region Inter
County Match Week they progress to the England County Finals and will play the winners of the five other England regions during the course of one week which is usually in September. The format of each match is the same as that of the East Region InterCounty Match Week all played off scratch.

Friendly warm

2nd Team
The 2nd Team plays individual day matches against 3 of the other East Region Counties. All counties play their third and final match on the same day at the same course. The format of each match is three foursomes in the morning and six singles in the afternoon all played off scratch.

Friendly warm
up matches are held early in the season against counties outside the East Region.

The seniors have now entered the Larson Bowl league which includes Sussex, Surry, Middlesex and Kent. These matches are played with a team of six playing singles match play.

The team points are calculated on how many individual matches you win over the four matches, the team with the most individual wins, will win the league and receives the Larson Bowl.  The Larson Bowl is then presented at finals day, this day all players that have represented Essex in any of the four matches will be invited to play on this day. The golf itself on this day is a fun day.
